The Western Ghats are the domain of King Kaalinga. These dense, evergreen rainforests have daylight temperatures of 20-30° Celsius. Sustained by the southwest monsoon, this hot and humid region's ecosystem influences monsoon weather patterns. The ghats consist of grasslands, montane forests (mountain forests), and wetlands supporting the survival of various plant and animal species. They are also home to major river systems such as the Godavari, Krishna, and Kaveri which are vital for human and wildlife existence.
